Mazunte, Mexico

Mexico is always a good idea! This trip was the whole month of January, 2022 in a small hippy/bohemian community in the southwest state of Oaxaca. Mezunte is a super cool town with French, German, Dutch, Finnish, Swedish, Lithuanian, Canadian and even a few Americans thrown in the mix. Ive never seen a more beautiful group of people anywhere in my life! The food was an astounding mix from all over the world and all very healthy. Sunset Paddle Tours in Mezunte is owned and operated by our friend Keenan Corbus from Alaska. Keenan has lived down there for 25 years and he was the first gringo in the town. His paddle tours leave daily at 4:20 and go out into the bay to watch whales, turtles, dolphins and the sunset. While I was there we were able to do a few different adventures including paddling about 7 miles of the coastline to a deserted beach and into a lagoon where we had an authentic Mexican lunch, multiple cervesas and then took a taxi back. Somehow all five of us fit into a taxi with the boards deflated in the trunk. Gotta love Mexico!
