Kenai River Tour
Kenai River Whitewater SUP tour: This Level 2 tour offers some very good opportunities to hone your paddling skills on one of the most beautiful rivers in the world! The Kenai is very wide and deep enough to not worry about scraping bottom or hitting any rocks making it a great place to confidently paddle. We will start the tour off with a short class- style lecture of safety practices, paddling techniques and overview of how to read current . We will then put our skills on the river with about 6 miles of class I- II rapids with fun wave trains and splashy water perfect for a SUP. We ask that all of our clients have strong swimming skills, be physically fit, have prior paddleboard experince and a basic knowledge of rivers such as basic rafting or kayak experience or other high adventure activity on the water. This river runs faster than any of our other trips we offer. There is also a stop for an (optional) riverside lunch at Gwinns Roadhouse. None of the rapids on this section are mandatory and there are very easy ways around them if preferred , making this tour more comfortable for folks who don’t need a bigger rush! Directions to Put-in/Take-Out: This trip will meet at Princess rapids on the Sterling Highway.
Tour Times: Approx. 3-4 hours (depending if clients want a lunch stop at Gwins)
Cost: $190
